Croatia holidaymakers set for film festival in "Pearl of the Adriatic"

Visitors to Dubrovnik in July will not only be able to enjoy "the Pearl of the Adriatic" but also a leading movie festival.

Libertas Film Festival is due to take place in Dubrovnik, with more than 90 European and worldwide premieres pencilled in.

It is also an opportunity to recognise the work of Croatian filmmakers and the rich culture of the host city.

Organisers of the event say it will also feature a series of film workshops and a discussion table about production in Croatia.

They add Dubrovnik, which was built in the seventh century, is a beautiful spot worthy of its UNESCO World Heritage status.

Movie lovers may therefore deem a stay in accommodation in Dubrovnik as the perfect summer plan, with the opportunity to meet a host of stars potentially difficult to turn down.

In previous years, Hollywood greats to have attended Libertas include Kevin Spacey and Mickey Rourke.
