Croatia holidaymakers 'set to enjoy heatwave'
13 July 2010People seeking sun from their summer holiday may be wise to book a break in accommodation in Croatia immediately.
The country is at the start of a period of particularly warm weather, with temperatures up to approximately 35 degrees Celsius common, a report by Jutarnji List detailed by the Croatian Times explains.
It is thought the hottest spots of all will be Slavonia and Knin, while seaside resorts along the Dalmatian coast will be slightly cooler.
That may make it perfect for a stroll along the beach in Dubrovnik or Split, before retreating to the shade of the old towns of the historic cities.
The report advises people heading to the area to drink plenty of liquids and use sun lotion.
Such weather may also signal the perfect time to relax on the sandy beaches of the country, which border the turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea.
Earlier this week, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board suggested the sea was the bluest in the world, when looking from space.
