Croatia is a "popular and vibrant destination" for festival-goers
24 June 2010Enjoying a festival in Croatia is one of the top musical highlights in Europe this summer and could also offer an opportunity to travel around the country.
The BBC recommends the Adriatic location as one with a top range of events for music lovers to attend, from the Garden Festival to Outlook and Soundwave.
First of all though is the T-Mobile INmusic Festival that is currently underway and starring the likes of Billy Ocean and Massive Attack.
In recent years, acts such as Lily Allen and Sonic Youth have performed at the showcase event, but it is only the start of Croatia's festival season.
"For music fans wanting a more intimate festival experience, the Garden Festival in Zadar is one of the more exclusive events, with a cap of just 2,000 punters," the news source explains.
Meanwhile, those seeking authentic Croatian music may wish to head to Soundwave, which features scores of home-grown acts.
Attending a festival may provide the ideal chance to visit renowned spots such as Dubrovnik, described this week by Jiva Train as one of the newest tourist hotspots in Europe.
