Croatia "is beautiful, affordable and luxurious"

Accommodation in Croatia could be soon be in demand after one writer labelled the country "an exotic destination that is beautiful, affordable and luxurious".

CNN journalist Ami Angelowicz told the Croatian Times that the country is now the frontrunner in luxury holiday locations after the demise of Dubai.

Holidaymakers looking for a Croatian waterfront villa or romantic apartment could be well advised to consider heading to the stunning Dalmatian coast.

Ms Angelowicz revealed to the newspaper that Croatia's "beautiful beaches" are her favourite aspect of the Balkan country, while its unspoilt countryside is also popular with many visitors.

Croatia has recently overtaken more established resorts as the top celebrity holiday destination, with A-list stars such as Jennifer Aniston enjoying an Adriatic break.

Tourists may wish to fly in to Dubrovnik, in the south of the country, after British Airways recently announced it as one of its top ten holiday locations for 2010.
