Croatia 'more than just about beach holidays'
31 July 2008There is a lot more to do in Croatia than just laze about on the country's beaches, it is claimed.
A spokesperson for Charisma PR, the company which represents the Croatian National Tourist Board, says there are a lot of tourist destinations in the country.
Makarska Riviera is recommended, while it is pointed out bars and pubs are widely available for people to visit if they desire.
The spokesperson states that Croatia is a "very different destination", with options like white water rafting and plenty of countryside and mountains to visit.
"It's very different from the traditional beach holiday. There's a lot more to do, a lot of historic cities and it's a very beautiful, green country," they conclude.
Croatia is known for its favourable weather, enjoying dry summers and mild winters.
In an average year the country receives 2,600 hours of sunlight, with temperatures in the capital, Zagreb, currently 33 degrees Celsius according to Visit Croatia.
