Croatia 'offers holidaymakers more than just good value'

While value for money and affordability could be key considerations for people on a budget who are planning a holiday in Croatia, it is important to remember the country is home to attractions that make it a great destination in its own right.

Niko Bulic, director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, tells the BBC that while he agrees the favourable exchange rates makes a trip to the Balkan nation cheaper than many other places in Europe for British travellers, there is more to it than that.

He noted the country boasts a significant quantity of idyllic spots and rural beauty, starting with its provision of scenic beaches on the historic Dalmatian coast.

But there are also attractions inland, such as national parks and mountain ranges.

Mr Bulic also says to the news provider he believes Croatia's food and investment in infrastructure have been key to its recent success.

Journalists Mike DeSimon and Jeff Jenssen recently told the portal Business in a story also covered by the Croatian Times of the high quality wine that travellers to Croatia can enjoy.
