Croatia one of Europe's 'best cheap holidays'
22 January 2009A trip to Croatia this summer can not only prove to be good for your sun tan, but can also be fantastic for your wallet.
That's according to the Post Office Travel Services, which claims that the Adriatic country is currently benefiting from its position outside of the eurozone.
Currency fluctuations have made European Union destinations an expensive bet for a holiday in the coming months and this could see people instead jetting off to Croatian destinations such as Dubrovnik or Zadar.
A spokesman for the Post Office Travel Services, Andrew Spice, commented: "Holidaymakers will be checking prices carefully this year and this means that the winning destinations will be those that offer good value not just for flights and accommodation, but for tourist staples like meals out and drinks."
He added that as exchange rates were still "unpredictable" it would be advisable to keep an eye on movements in the money markets.
Earlier in the week, a spokesman for Croatia Airlines told Flight Global that the company was looking to improve on the number of travellers it took to the country last year.
