Croatia 'one of the top places to holiday in 2011'
24 December 2010A holiday in Croatia has been put forward as one of the most popular choices of those set to take breaks overseas in 2011.
Comparison site travelsupermarket.com believes the Balkan nation – famous for its rich history, beautiful beaches and glorious weather – will be one of the winners in the new year travel sector.
The website's expert Bob Atkinson says one of the factors that people will increasingly consider when booking breaks over the next 12 months is value for money.
"Brits will take advantage of special offers and destinations that can provide these will be popular. Weather will also be a factor with two indifferent summers now in a row [at home]," he states.
A holiday in Croatia could be well placed to deliver on both fronts, with great value assured and the country enjoying a warm climate.
Alexander Horne, author of a city guide for the Scotsman, recently named spring as the ideal time to travel to Dubrovnik.
