Croatia receives broadband boost
12 February 2009Online broadband availability in Croatia has been given a boost with the announcement of a new service provider.
WiMax Telecom's latest offering - which has been launched alongside Volubill's dynamic charging system - will undoubtedly improve overseas visitors' access to platforms such as email, internet and messaging.
The news will likely be received well by tourists and business people alike travelling to Croatia, as it will allow them to keep close contact with goings-on at home.
Chief technology officer of WiMAX Telecom, Peter Ziegelwanger, said: "The choice of Volubill's Charge IT product has been key to our strategy of going forward.
He added that the group's technology would be used to "achieve our goals of bring lower pricing to both home and business customers, whilst bringing broadband access to places where
it has been economically unviable."
Figures from the Croatian Central Bureau of Statistics show that the country is currently home to more than five million mobile-phone users.
