Croatia recommended to Brits
28 August 2008British holidaymakers and investors should head to countries outside the euro zone like Croatia, it is claimed.
Stephen Smith, sales and marketing director at West Side Village, a tourism complex in Egypt, says Croatia is a perfect destination because it is easily accessible being within five hours of the UK, while cheap, regular flights between the two countries are also available.
Mr Smith suggests British tourists are more likely to travel to countries which do not use the single currency as the pound is currently weak against the euro.
In addition, he claims property investors would be wise to look at countries like Croatia as a place to buy.
He adds: "Holiday home buyers can benefit tremendously from owning a second property abroad if they can combine a holiday home with investment potential, which could potentially help fund their retirement."
It was recently revealed by the Croatian National Bank that property prices in the Adriatic have risen by 89.9 per cent in the last ten years.
According to Propertyinvesting.net, the country as a whole has seen a 61.6 per cent increase in values since 2004.
