Croatia 'set to become top golf holiday destination'
15 July 2010The rise of Croatia as a holiday destination has been significant in recent years and tourism bosses believe golf could help it to grow even further.
People who love the sport in the UK and across the world will soon be heading for a stay in accommodation in Croatia with their clubs and tees, if one organisation is proved right.
The Croatian National Tourism Board says golf is becoming increasingly popular in the country as more tourists and locals find the relaxing surroundings are perfect for the game.
One course in Brijuni National Park may be considered one of the nation's finest, with a number of new developments already under construction.
"[Croatia] aims to become a significant golfing destination on the eastern Adriatic due to its ideal countryside and gentle climate," states the board.
Earlier this year, Balkans.com said the country is "leading the pack" when it comes to building golf facilities and several other "world-class" courses are at the planning stage.
