Croatia to open doors to foreign investors
26 January 2009Travellers and tourists looking to invest in the Croatian property market will be able to do so with significantly less hassle from next month.
As the country marches towards European Union entry, the Croatian government has taken the step of allowing foreign nationals to purchase housing on the same terms as its own citizens.
Writing for theMoveChannel, Catherine Deshayes believes that the change will draw substantially more people to the Balkan paradise.
Ms Deshayes wrote: "These new changes look to drastically alter the second home and investment market in the country.
"Those seeking a holiday home are drawn mainly to the coast, for the stunning views and strong rental potential."
She added that the country's climate, healthcare standards and improving infrastructure also made Croatia "very popular with retirees".
Earlier this month, Associated Content reported that the Adriatic city Dubrovnik was the perfect destination for those travellers looking to explore their spiritual side.
