Croatia travellers 'could enjoy lounge facilities at Heathrow'
10 September 2008Holidaymakers travelling by Croatia Airlines to the country via Heathrow airport will now be able to make use of an executive lounge in Terminal 1.
Flyers with the carrier will be able to use the facility if they are first-class or business-class passengers after it was officially opened.
Gold Card holders with Star Alliance - which Croatia Airlines is a member of - and invited guests will also be able to enjoy all the lounge has to offer, including shower facilities, a special area for children and Wi-Fi internet access.
Lee Hock Lye, vice president of products and service at Star Alliance, said its new facility will prove to be a "major benefit" to member carriers.
He added: "Rather than their own separate lounges and incur duplicate construction and operating costs, Star Alliance lounges save the airlines money and give customers a high-quality experience in a comfortable environment that is much larger and with more amenities than the carriers could provide on their own."
Croatia Airlines announced earlier this summer flights to the country from Heathrow will be moving from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1, according to ftnnews.com.
