Croatia is a frontier market worth investing in, an asset management company has claimed.

Franklin Templeton Investments has revealed strong economic growth is offered in such countries

The market in Croatia is estimated to grow five per cent this year and like Japan 50 years ago, could become a major emerging market according to the company.

Mark Mobius, portfolio manager at Franklin Templeton Investments, said frontier market investing is a long-term trend connected to the increasing prosperity of countries.

He told the Financial Standard: "Despite the pessimism that's descended on developed economies, there's still a lot of new growth today in frontier markets."

According to a recent report by Reuters, Croatia is set to keep its economic growth forecast of 4.5 per cent this year.

Damir Polancec, the Croatian economy minister told a conference in Sibenik the government is planning to reach seven per cent growth within the next four years.
