Croatian EU entry bid to be championed by expert tonight

Croatia's attempts to join the European Union (EU) - which could trigger a wave of benefits for tourists in the country - will be discussed tonight (April 6th).

Zoran Jasic, Croatian ambassador in Austria, will take to the stage in Eisenstadt to tell attendees of the advantages, chances and risks associated with entry, according to the Croatian Times.

The Austrian city will host the platform for a number of interested parties to have their say on the matter.

It will take place at the City Hall at 19:00 local time, the newspaper explains.

If, as is widely expected, Croatia is admitted to the EU at some point during the next two years, the country's economic position is likely to significantly improve.

This may result in a wave of new infrastructure and attractions being introduced to capitalise on its reputation as one of Europe's up-and-coming tourist hotspots.

The EU is currently made up of 27 member countries, including the UK and Ireland.
