Croatian Eurovision winner unleashes new single
19 January 2009Croatian Eurovision Song Contest winner Emilija Kokic has unleashed her latest hit single, marking a surprise change in musical direction.
As reported by esctoday - a website dedicated to the competition - the 1989 winner's latest release, entitled Vatromet boja, incorporates a diverse range of influences and styles.
Prior to recording the track, Kokic had tried her luck at representing Croatia at this year's event in Moscow, but to no avail.
She told esctoday: "The song makes me happy, because this is my little trip to the world of samba, and the message that we all take off the mask, to dance and to love."
The song's composer, Marko Tomasovic, added that the song offered listeners an opportunity to experience a new "package" of Kokic, which would also involve a whole new live show.
Elsewhere in Croatia, the country's national handball team got off to an impressive start at the sport's world championship in Zagreb, seeing off South Korea 27:26.
