Croatian coast luring property investors

Foreign property investors seeking lifestyle homes have targeted the Croatian coast, a property expert has said.

Rhiannon Davies, director of overseas property advice website Amberlamb, said the country is not disappointing those looking for a second property.

However, foreign investment is resulting in rising prices, meaning Croatia can no longer be considering as an "emerging market".

Ms Davies said those who are looking for homes abroad are mainly being attracted to the Adriatic coast.

She explained: "These types of buyers are typically looking for a holiday home that doubles up as an investment, and they are lured to coastal living."

It has emerged Croatia is also being considered by people approaching retirement.

A high quality of living, affordability and the attractiveness of the climate are said to be tempting retirees.

The country's expected accession to the European Union is also a consideration for those thinking of buying a home abroad, it has emerged.
