Croatian holiday can include tour of brewery

People planning a stay in accommodation in Croatia later this week could be pleased to learn of a brewery's intention to open its doors.

Karlovac Brewery, located in the heart of the country, is continuing a tradition of offering guided tours by inviting visitors this Friday (August 27th), reports the Croatian Times.

The facility has a long and rich history of brewing alcoholic beverages dating back to 1854 and was incorporated into the Heineken Group in 2003.

Employees will be on hand to inform guests of the brewery's history while also guiding them through the brewing process, the newspaper explains.

Taking a tour of the building may be an ideal way to spend a few hours away from the beaches and sunshine of Croatia's popular Dalmatian coast and learning a little more about the country's past.

Other events coming up in Croatia include the famous Julian Rachlin and Friends concert, due to kick off in Dubrovnik on Tuesday.
