Croatian holiday for Tottenham star and new bride
17 May 2010Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric took a Croatia holiday last week to tie the knot with his long-time girlfriend.
The Croatian playmaker and his girlfriend Vanja Bosnic visited the capital of Zagreb, where they were married, reports the Croatian Times.
Some of Modric's Spurs and Croatia colleagues may have been in attendance as the couple, who are expecting a baby, exchanged vows.
The decision of Modric to choose his homeland for his marriage could inspire many others to also consider Croatia as either a wedding or honeymoon destination.
Whether it be a spell on the sunny, sandy beaches of the Dalmatian coast, a stroll around Dubrovnik, or a stay in a luxury Croatian villa, the country may be just right for a number of newlyweds.
Other celebrities to have taken a Croatia holiday in recent months include the cast of Doctor Who, who were filming in Trogir, as well as Michael Schumacher, who owns a house in Istria.
