Croatian player 'close to return for Arsenal

A Croatian football player who suffered a broken leg in a match last February is close to making a return to his Premier League club Arsenal.

Brazilian-born Eduardo was tackled by Matthew Taylor in a game against Birmingham, which resulted in him being unable to play for the Gunners.

The 25-year-old is not expected to take part in the club's match against Wigan at the Emirates Stadium this weekend but he is back in practice with his teammates.

Arsenal's manager Arsene Wenger said Eduardo will return as soon as possible and is currently joining in full training but needs to play games.

"We have Kolo Toure available again and he is more suited to playing on the right side of central defence. We will see until Saturday how well he is," he added.

The manager of Croatia's football team has said he would like to coach an English club when his contract ends with the national squad.

Slaven Bilic, who has coached the Croatian team since July 2006, has been approached by several Premier league clubs to take up a position.
