Croatian player to stay with Pompey

Croatian Portsmouth player Niko Kranjcar has ruled out a move from the club in the next transfer window.

The Croatian-born star has said it would be "stupid" for him to think about moving from the south coast club as he has not been fit since the beginning of the season.

"For me, my main objective is to keep fit - and that's all," he said, after rumours emerged that he has been linked to a £12.5 million move to Arsenal.

The player stated he has heard rumours of him moving clubs since he was 17-years-old and it is now something he does not talk about.

He said he is happy playing in the Premier League with a club which is "pushing for European places".

Kranjcar has previously played for Croatian team Dinamo Zagreb from 2001 to January 2005 and for Hajduk Split from 2005-06, when he moved to Portsmouth.
