Croatian ski holiday may be better value for money in 2010
13 October 2010Britons may be in a position of financial strength when it comes to booking a skiing holiday in Croatia this winter.
The Ski Club of Great Britain believes the improving state of the pound versus other currencies means UK tourists will enjoy good value for money on their travels.
This may include Croatia, which has yet to adopt the euro and is therefore seen by some as a cheaper alternative to traditional winter sports destinations.
Betony Garner, spokeswoman for the organisation, says: "The recovery of the pound is definitely going to help skiers get better value for money in Europe."
She adds British holidaymakers have been "hit" by the poor state of their currency for the last two winters.
Ms Garner's comments appear to back up recent research by the Post Office, which released its Where to Ski report that suggested people leaving the UK during the colder months will benefit from more favourable exchange rates.
