Croatian stars set for film festival
15 August 2008Croatian stars will be among those present at this year's Sarajevo International Film Festival, which gets underway tonight.
The event, which will be followed by actor Kevin Spacey travelling to Dubrovnik for an appearance, will see ten movies showcased.
Croatian actress Marija Škaricic and British director Hugh Hudson are on the five-strong jury who will decide which of the films shown will win the Heart of Sarajevo award, reports website Todayszaman.com.
The gathering, which started in 1995, kicks off with a screening of the film Snow and is expected to be visited by up to 100,000 people before it closes on August 23rd.
Dubrovnik will then hold its annual Film Meeting which starts on August 24th.
Meanwhile, Croatian band Let3 have been praised by a British music website after a performance at the Storas festival earlier this month.
The band were described by Drownedinsound.co.uk as "stupendous stuff" after a set of "well polished garage jams".
