Croatian travellers 'can holiday among the stars'
02 December 2009Celebrity spotters may want to travel to Croatia after the country was named as a favourite destination for the rich and famous.
A report by CNN suggests that superstar holidaymakers are ditching Dubai in favour of other sun-soaked hotspots - led by Croatia.
The news provider states: "Croatia, on the Adriatic arm of the Mediterranean, rivals other European seaside areas with beaches, sailing and superb cuisine that's attracted superstars like Steven Spielberg, Andre Agassi, Gwyneth Paltrow and Sharon Stone."
Croatia's special combination of picturesque beaches, rich history and unspoilt rural retreats could be behind the influx of A-listers.
Thanks to the favourable exchange rate, Britons could find a luxury Croatian villa is more reasonably priced than may be expected.
A study by the Association of Independent Tour Operators this week found that people are refusing to give up on luxury travel despite the credit crunch, with length of holiday being compromised instead of quality in many cases.
