Croatian visits could improve further with EU entry
05 October 2009Tourists planning a holiday in Croatia could be pleased to find out that the country's chances of entering the European Union (EU) have improved after neighbours Slovenia removed a ban on discussing the matter.
Talks are now taking in place in Brussels to decide whether Croatia should become the 28th member of the union.
Entry into the union could be good news for tourists intending to visit a Croatian city such as Zagreb, Dubrovnik or Split.
The already popular destination on the Adriatic coast would benefit from a number of EU regulations, which could dramatically improve the tourist experience.
Money would be pumped into Croatia to improve infrastructure - including roads, airports and hospitals.
The country should see a boost in employment figures, with more workers on hand to enhance a visitor's experience.
And Croatia's beautiful scenery, in particular its long and sandy beaches, would be preserved with EU funds.
