Croatians launch web-based tourism drive
17 April 2009A group of enterprising Croatians have launched an online web portal designed to boost tourism in their country.
The WhyCroatia website features videos, photos and guidance on the many attractions the Balkan destination has to offer travellers.
A spokesperson for the website said: "Our goal is thousands and thousands of videos and our hope is not only that you will come but also that people from Croatia will unite in this action, which is
[a] lot of fun."
Among the five best places to party in Croatia, the website lists Zrce beach on the island of Pag, Hvar's Carpe Diem and Primosten's Discotheque Aurora.
Visitors planning a trip to the Adriatic over the summer will also find WhyCroatia's top ten beaches to be a must-read. Featured locations include Bol's Zlatni Rat and Korcula's Pupnatska beach.
Tourism in Croatia was given another major boost this month, when Reuters revealed that the government was relaxing visa requirements for Russian and Ukrainian visitors.
