Croatia's Dalmatian coast 'easily offers enough for two-week holiday'
30 November 2010There is so much to do and see on Croatia's Dalmatian coast that one travel writer believes holidaymakers should spend at least two weeks there, if possible.
Michael Gebicki, responding to a reader's letter for the Sydney Morning Herald, notes the area is the "most beautiful waterfront" in that part of the world.
There are scores of pretty villages, idyllic beaches and spectacular hillsides in the region to provide a perfect vacation destination.
And if tourists run out of places to visit and things to do on the mainland, a short boat ride offers the potential to visit any one of dozens of islands.
"The island of Hvar is the most beautiful spot on the Dalmatian coast, combining a splendid town - also Hvar - with a gorgeous coastline and some marvellous beaches," Mr Gebicki states.
Other nearby landmasses include Brac and Korcula, which can be accessed from Dubrovnik and Split.
