Dalmatian beach 'is best for bathing on Croatia holiday'
24 May 2010A secluded part of Korcula, an Adriatic island off the coast of Croatia, is ideal for bathing when on holiday in the country.
Jon Bousfield, writing for the Telegraph, notes the sand at Proizd, next to Vela Luka, is among the best in the region.
"Not so much a beach as a geological wonder, the islet of Proizd is a maquis-covered lump of rock. There are four main bathing areas, located five minutes walk from each other," he explains.
The sand is rich and golden, while the water is turquoise and clear - arguably making for the idyllic beach holiday setting.
But the fun for those staying in accommodation on the Croatian islands does not end with the beach, as it is surrounded by other bays and wondrous rock features.
This area is particularly suited to families and young couples, with many opting to take a boat and cruise around other islands.
People in the area are also ideally located for day trips to Italy, Bosnia Herzegovina and other parts of Croatia.
