Do not let banking charges ruin idyllic Croatia holiday
21 May 2010Young travellers heading to Croatia for a summer holiday over the coming months may be well advised to remember the words of a financial expert.
Paul Smith, managing director at EZ Pay, says people should be aware of all the charges their bank could make before they travel.
It follows research that shows some 50 per cent of 25 to 34-year-olds have been stuck overseas without any money.
Mr Smith suggests this is a result of people believing it is free to use the services provided by financial institutions in foreign countries.
He adds the older generation are "more switched on" as they are not so reliant on credit.
The expert also advises people heading to Croatia to get the most of their money by buying currency in advance and not at the airport.
Currently, £1 will buy tourists heading on a Croatia holiday approximately 8.3 kunas.
