Doctor Who episodes set to give insight into Croatia holiday06 May 2010
The Croatian holiday resort of Trogir will soon be put on the map by Doctor Who.
Over the winter, a number of scenes for the new series of the hit BBC show were filmed alongside the Adriatic coast.
And now, just four weeks from airing on television for the first time, the Telegraph explains the town's role in the upcoming shows.
Firstly, Trogir will double up as Venice in this Saturday's (May 8th) show, before it is used again in four weeks to depict 19th-century France.
"The chapel that we filmed in was absolutely the period that most of Venice was built. The architecture here is stunning people come from all round the world to see it," guest star Helen McCrory tells the newspaper.
Fans of Doctor Who, as well as those who like what they see on BBC One in the coming weeks, may wish to secure their Croatian villa in the area soon and start looking forward to a break in the country this summer.
The first episode featuring Trogir will air at 18:00 BST this Saturday.
