Dubrovnik Summer Festival 'is centre of a cultural metropolis'

The city of Dubrovnik is a cultural metropolis with a special charm and historic significance, making it a top holiday destination for thousands of people each year.

Dubrovnik Tourist Board goes on to add to its endorsement of the resort in southern Croatia by noting the success of its Summer Festival.

During this time a host of musical and theatrical performances take place around the city in open-air venues.

A plethora of skilled workers have at one time or another treated Dubrovnik as a great place to work, helping to create its cultural feel.

"The works of the artists, writers and scientists of Dubrovnik have been woven into the texture of the city, whose tourist reputation and attractiveness are based on its culture," the board states.

Famous faces to have treated themselves to time in Dubrovnik already this year include Hollywood pair Eva Longoria and Gerard Butler, while Microsoft founder Bill Gates took a break further up the Dalmatian coast.
