Dubrovnik holiday can be more pleasurable during winter
08 November 2010Britons searching for somewhere to lap up a spot of winter sun over the coming months may be wise to consider Dubrovnik.
The official tourist board of the city suggests a break in the region can be easier and more convenient either side of Christmas.
It points out events such as music festivals and traditional activities make the resort a fascinating place to be during winter and perhaps one of the best destinations for a romantic weekend.
"Dubrovnik in winter offers unforgettable sensations and enjoyment to its visitors. Short winter days are ideal for sightseeing, after which you can savour excellent wines and delicious local specialties," the authority notes.
Other benefits include the chance to see the city without the heavy crowds of summer and the likelihood of a cheaper holiday cost.
To further drive down the price of travelling to Dubrovnik, tourists could take advantage of the routes operated to the resort by airlines such as easyJet.
