Dubrovnik holiday 'is one of the best in Europe'

Tourists have been advised a break in Dubrovnik, perhaps in a Croatian villa, will offer a range of experiences.

Walking the walls that surround the old town, shopping at the city's famous market and enjoying Croatian cuisine in a local restaurant are among the recommendations made by an individual named Neha, writing for Europe a la Carte.

The author suggests Dubrovnik "is without argument one of the best places to visit in Europe", with the online portal's tip of the week given as visiting the jewellery boutiques located in the city's back streets.

"The jewellery is handcrafted in backdoor workshops or in roomier ones beyond the gates of the old town," the website explains.

Other visitors may wish to head to the sandy beaches that line the city's shoreline and enjoy the summer sun.
