Dubrovnik is an "outstandingly attractive" holiday destination
05 November 2010Tourists who opt for a holiday in Dubrovnik will be greeted by one of Europe's most beautiful cities with a fascinating past to explore.
Travel expert Gordon Miller, writing an article for the Daily Mail, says the resort in the south of Croatia is "outstandingly attractive".
As the country's premier cultural centre, there is plenty to see and do in the ancient city, with its Old Town area arguably the highlight for the majority.
Mr Miller notes this part of Dubrovnik has approximately a mile of historic walls that surround the centre and provide the route for an interesting and relaxing walk.
He also points to the "beautiful limestone medieval buildings" located within the Stradun, the city's main street, as another attraction to look out for.
Dubrovnik is hosting a number of events this winter that may present the perfect time to travel to Croatia, such as its carnival, new year celebrations and Christmas markets.
