Dubrovnik named as part of grand European holiday
10 June 2010Tourists who follow the Lonely Planet Guide's idea of a grand tour around Europe this summer will require accommodation in Dubrovnik.
The ancient city, located on the Dalmatian coast in southern Croatia, is named as one of the top ten places to visit by the publication, MTI reports.
Alongside spots such as Budapest and Barcelona, Dubrovnik is part of the extravagant tour suggested by the travel guide.
Highlights of Dubrovnik for those who visit may include the city's historic walls which circle it, as well as the new cable car that is opening this month.
People who use the cable car will be transported to the top of nearby Mount Srdj, offering picturesque views over both Dubrovnik and the turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea.
However, some may consider the booking of quality accommodation in the Croatian city a priority before they begin to plan the itinerary of their trip.
