Early music fans may be tempted by last-minute Dubrovnik holiday

Booking a last-minute break and travelling to the historic city of Dubrovnik may be a tempting option for many people in the UK.

And it could be even more of an exciting prospect to early music fans, with a unique event coming up this weekend and beyond.

The Dubrovnik International Early Music Festival kicks off in the popular resort on Saturday (November 27th) and runs until next Tuesday.

Taking place at the Dubrovnik City Library, it promises to be an eye-opener for all those who want to know more about tunes of previous ages, while aficionados may also enjoy the performances.

Musicians will come from the UK's Saraband Consort and local artists from the Sorkocevic School of Art Orchestra.

It has been a promising period for music fans thinking of travelling to Croatia, with Lady Gaga and Sting both putting on a show in the country earlier this month and details emerging of Bon Jovi visiting in 2011.
