Eduardo wants to play for his country again
18 December 2008A Croatian football player who has not played for his country for ten months says he wants to return to take part in a match for his home team.
Brazilian-born striker Eduardo would like to play for Croatia in an international friendly game against Romania, which will take place in February.
The 25-year-old has been out of action after suffering from a broken leg when he was tackled in a match against Birmingham earlier this year.
Eduardo told Croatian sports paper Sportske Novosti: "I can't wait to play my first match in a Croatia shirt. I think it could be in February when we play Romania."
The football player recently returned to play for his Premier League club Arsenal for 45 minutes in their 2-0 win against Portsmouth reserves, but suffered from a hamstring injury during the game.
He hopes he can be back in action for his club when they begin their campaign in the Football Association Cup in January.
