Enjoy an authentic taste of Dubrovnik on winter vacation
04 November 2010This winter may present tourists with their best opportunity yet to sample a genuine taste of the culture, cuisine and arts of Dubrovnik.
The ancient city in the south of Croatia hosts its annual Winter Collage during the cold months, with traditional songs and dances at the centre of the fun.
A programme of performances by the Lindo Folk Ensemble has been set, with vocals coming from a group of the same name.
In addition to the music, travellers to Croatia will be able to purchase locally-crafted souvenirs and typical Dubrovnik products, as well as the city's traditional food and drink.
The winter arguably provides tourists with the easiest chance to explore the resort and investigate its rich history, as the crowds of summer have by this time dissipated.
One highlight of Dubrovnik that may be particularly special at this time of year is taking a cable car up the overlooking Mount Srd for bird's-eye views over the city and the Adriatic Sea.
