Experience historic Croatia

Those who choose a Croatia travel trip for their summer holiday this year may get the chance to experience a bit of history.

It is ten years since the bronze statue Apoksiomen was found in the sea near the island of Losinj - and to mark the anniversary of the discovery it will be going on display during the tourism season.

People staying in Dubrovnik accommodation and those who take a trip to Zadar will be able to see the historic statue, which is thought to be thousands of years old.

According to the Croatia National Tourist Board, which reported news of the forthcoming exhibitions in its June newsletter, the value of the statue's discovery will be seen when it is permanently placed in Palace Kvarner after the venue has been renovated.

Other people taking a holiday in Croatia, who appreciate the history of the country, may wish to visit the Diocletian's Palace in Split.
