Expert: Plenty to explore on holiday in Croatia

Croatia's landscape makes it a top place to explore and enjoy, explains a holiday expert.

Tom Hall, travel editor at Lonely Planet, says the country is "extremely beautiful" and its mix of a rocky coastline and good forestry means there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Whether a coastal discovery or countryside stroll is what a traveller is looking for, they will find it in Croatia.

Mr Hall goes on to note other advantages of using Croatia accommodation as a base for exploring the picturesque nation, including its infrastructure.

"There is a good mix of history and activities with seaside scenery – and it is easy to get around by ferry or by bus," he explains.

Indeed, one popular activity may be to take a ferry to one of the numerous islands located off the country's shore - such as Brac, Hvar and Korcula.

These are just three of approximately 1,200 to be found close to the Dalmatian coast.
