Famed Czech photographer opens Split show
11 February 2009A legendary Czech landscape photographer has opened his latest exhibition in the Croatian coastal city of Split.
As reported by the Croatian Times, Jan Reich opened his Cycles Bohemia and the House at one of the Adriatic location's most renowned galleries.
Inaugurated by the Czech ambassador Karel Kuhnl and organised in association with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Croatia, the show is said to demonstrate the good cultural ties between the two nations.
The newspaper reported that Split mayor Ivan Kuret was present at the opening ceremony, where he lauded co-operation between Croatia and the Czech Republic as an integral part of the country's proposed European Union entry.
Reich's exhibition launched at the city's Stara Gradska Vjecnica museum yesterday (February 10th) and is due to run until March 10th.
The Croatian Times reported earlier this month that the Czech Tourism Office had told the Hina news agency Croatia was the locals' holiday of choice.
