Famous play could be part of Valentine's Croatian holiday
12 January 2010One of Croatia's best-known operettas, the Split Aquarelle, is coming to a stage in Zagreb - and could tempt tourists to visit the country.
Ivo Tijardovic's masterpiece will be performed at Zagreb's Drazen Petrovic Hall on February 13th, reports the Croatian Times.
A host of singers - including Ivica Cikes, Valentina Fijacko, Sasa Jakelic, Goran Markovic, Renata Sabljak and the Split Orchestra - will take part in the show.
Ivo Lipanovic will be in control from the conductor's position and Kresimir Dolencic will direct, the newspaper reveals.
Taking in the play could be one part of a romantic break in the Balkans on Valentine's weekend, which may also include a stay at a top-class Croatian villa.
The Split Aquarelle debuted in 1928 and is a dedication to the city and all of its people.
Close to Split are some of the most beautiful of Croatia's islands - such as Hvar, which was described this week as having something for everyone by the Tips From The T-List website.
