Five reasons to book a break in Dubrovnik
17 August 2010Tourists in two minds over whether to head to Dubrovnik for a stay in a luxury villa this year have been handed five top reasons to visit the city.
TNT Magazine profiles the historic city, putting forward a strong case for spending time within its historic walls.
Firstly, it notes the Old Town area as being a huge draw, with its 824 buildings with red roofs cited as a highlight.
The publication goes on to recommend the city's cafe culture, authentic Croatian cuisine and high-quality beer as other reasons to visit.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the final entrant on the list is the beautiful beaches that line Dubrovnik's Adriatic shoreline.
"Dubrovnik's crystal clear waters is the perfect way to cool down. Beaches are generally pebbly, although there are some concrete areas that allow swimmers to dive straight in," the magazine advises.
Croatia's premier resort has a population of just over 40,000, according to the 2001 census.
