Flights to Croatia could be behind passenger increase
04 June 2010Flights to Croatia may be responsible for a significant rise in the number of people travelling with budget airline easyJet.
The carrier has revealed it transported 3.94 million people around Europe and north Africa during May 2009 - up 1.8 per cent compared with the same month a year earlier.
Its 12-month rolling figures are even more impressive, with 44.49 million travellers boarding easyJet flights since May 2008, a rise of 9.6 per cent on the previous year.
The introduction of new and popular routes - such as those the airline offers between the UK and Dubrovnik and Split - could be partly responsible for the positive figures.
It currently offers routes from Gatwick, Stansted and Liverpool to Dubrovnik, as well as Gatwick, Stansted and Bristol to Split.
Tourists may wish to book a bargain flight with the airline and use the money saved to splash out on a high-class Croatian villa in which to enjoy their holiday.
