Football manager would like to coach in England
03 December 2008The manager of Croatia's football team has said he would like to coach an English club when his contract ends with the national squad.
Slaven Bilic, who has coached the Croatian team since July 2006, has been approached by several Premier league clubs to take up a position.
However, the manager does not intend to leave his current players until their 2010 World Cup qualifying campaign has ended.
Bilic told the Vjesnik daily newspaper he would certainly be disappointed if he did not become a coach of an England club, as he is a huge fan of the country's football
"I still have several offers but I can't tell right now whether any of them will be realised. It is true that my goal is to coach a team competing in the best European leagues and England is my preference," he added.
Croatian football player Luka Modric has recently been hailed as the key to his team's success this season by his teammate at Tottenham Hotspur Ledley King.
