Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer recalls holiday in Dubrovnik

The upcoming Euro 2012 qualifier between Germany and Turkey has allowed goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to reminisce about his holiday in Dubrovnik two years ago.

Schalke stopper Neuer says he was enjoying a break on Croatia's Dalmatian coast the last time the teams met, in the semi-final of Euro 2008.

This time, he will be between the posts in Berlin having established himself as Germany's first-choice goalkeeper prior to the summer's World Cup in South Africa.

"I was in Croatia then, in Dubrovnik on holiday. Of course I saw the game on TV. It was really exciting and offered a lot of goals," the player said, referring to his country's 3-2 victory in Basle.

Neuer is just the latest famous face to have revealed himself as a fan of holidays in Croatia, with stars such as Eva Longoria, Michael Schumacher, Bill Gates and Gerard Butler all known to have visited the country.
