Get more for less on holiday in Croatia
25 October 2010Croatia is one of the few holiday destinations in the world where British travellers can currently enjoy a more favourable exchange rate than this time last year.
Research by Travelex shows UK tourists now receive an extra £34 for every £500 they spend converting pounds to Croatian kunas.
Only nations such as Egypt and Kenya can compete with such an improvement in fortunes, with many currencies now stronger against the pound than they were 12 months previously.
Julian Neal of Travelex.co.uk says: "Croatia has continued to be great value for money throughout 2010."
The firm has also noted the bargain rates available on accommodation in Croatia, with a night in Dubrovnik said to cost almost £5 less than similar lodgings in Cornwall.
Such statistics may persuade many people that their next break lies overseas, perhaps on the Dalmatian coast, rather than in the UK.
Other resorts in the area that may be of interest to travellers to Croatia include Split, Sibenik and Makarska.
