Help for Germans on a Croatia holiday
30 June 2009German tourists staying in accommodation in Istria this summer will benefit from having police officers from their own country patrolling the region.
The German federal police announced this week that it will be sending two representatives to the popular Croatia holiday destination to help tourists throughout July and August.
Earth Times reports that police officers from other nationalities will also be heading to the Croatian vacation hotspot to perform a similar task.
Croatia receives visitors from all over Europe and the summer scheme has been developed to help make tourists' stays in the country as comfortable as possible.
Earlier this month, Croatia's national tourist board launched an online social networking portal to try and get people talking about why they love the country as a holiday destination.
Head of the organisation Niko Bulic told the AFP news agency that the internet was going to be used as the main way to attract visitors.
