Holiday in Brac 'offers mix of natural beauty and history'
05 November 2010Brac is a diverse island boasting beautiful scenery and natural features, as well as fascinating historical landmarks.
David Atkinson, writing for the Daily Telegraph, recently visited the landmass and says he spent much of his time taking in the remarkable views.
He notes one example of reaching a rocky summit deep in the heart of Brac and looking over the famous southern beaches, including the golden cape of Zlatni Rat.
The traveller to Croatia recalls walking winding trails, with fresh aromas of rosemary, sage and oregano wafting through the air.
Mr Atkinson also tells of following a grassy path through one of Brac's many olive groves, before encountering genuine Roman ruins.
"The little ethnological museum recounts the story of the ancient village but more emotive is the graveyard of St Helena," he states.
Brac's capital of Supetar can be reached by ferry in less than an hour from the Dalmatian coast resort of Split.
