Holiday in Croatia creates opportunity to enjoy carnival
16 November 2010People who book a holiday in Croatia for early next year may be interested to learn of another carnival they will have the chance to attend.
The town of Pag, located on the Adriatic island of the same name, hosts its annual celebration in February, with plenty of fun and traditional activities promised.
Whatsonwhen.com notes the winter carnival actually spreads across much of the landmass, which can be found in the northern part of the Dalmatian region.
However, its focus is on Pag, where folk characters such as Robinja, a parade of people in Ottoman-style costume and local musicians come together to create a spectacular flood of colour.
It could be an opportunity for tourists to join the fun and dress up themselves, while others are sure to be welcome just to watch.
Pag is not the only option for carnival lovers though, with the resorts of Dubrovnik, in Croatia's southernmost point, as well as Rijeka in the north both hosting similar events this winter.
